At Biddick Academy we aim to offer students a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes their spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development, and prepares them for adult life. The Academy’s Head Teacher, Trustees and Directors recognise the value and importance of learning outside the classroom, and encourage staff to organise educational visits that enrich the curriculum and enhance the learning and development of our students.

Biddick is a popular and oversubscribed Academy, mainly serving the south of Washington, with around 1100 students on roll. We make a commitment to staffing and as a result we have one of the lowest teacher pupil ratios in the area.
Most of our students have English as a first language; the number of pupils with learning disabilities and the proportion entitled to free school meals are below average.
Ofsted judged us to be a good school with some outstanding qualities and parents were ‘overwhelmingly positive about the education and care that their children receive’.
