Dear parents and carers, due to the forecast warnings and remaining threat and unpredictability of the weather, the Academy will be closed tomorrow on Friday 2nd March 2018. Based on multiple sources of information we believe this decision is in the best interests and safety of all. We hope to be open and back to normal on Monday 5th March 2018. Please keep an eye on the Academy Website and social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter) where we shall confirm on Sunday 4th March of any updates.
We will re-arrange our Yr. 11 mock examinations in light of the events over the last few days. Having spent some time enjoying the snow, here are some suggestions for productive work at home for our pupils:
We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. Thank you for your patience and understanding
Biddick is a popular and oversubscribed Academy, mainly serving the south of Washington, with around 1100 students on roll. We make a commitment to staffing and as a result we have one of the lowest teacher pupil ratios in the area.
Most of our students have English as a first language; the number of pupils with learning disabilities and the proportion entitled to free school meals are below average.
Please address all enquiries (including general enquiries) to:
